Snack Time

I love snacks. I used to be a snackaholic back when I lived at home with my parents. But for the past couple of years I really haven't snacked all that much and I really should. Snacking is actually good for you. You know why? Because if you eat a snack when your hungry you end up not overeating later on. Well that's good to know. Up until a few weeks ago I tended to not eat at all until I got to the point where I was starving and when I finally fixed a meal or I went out and got fast food I ended up eating more than I needed. I knew all about this before I just wish I would of done it. If I eat something small when I first get hungry I don't pig out so much later on. Here's my recent excuse. For a long time after Noah was born it seemed like I didn't have any extra time to fix myself something because he always needed me, well luckily he is becoming more independent and doesn't need me as much as before. Fortunately now I have more time to myself which means I can actually take the time to fix myself something quick to eat. Before I would usually wait till dinner when Pat got home. So basically I would be starving by the time he came and it sucked. I'm happy I finally have the time to eat. Here is a good article from the Mayo Clinic on snacking.
Snacks: How they fit into your weight-loss plan.
So my idea is to write a list of foods that you like and make sure you keep them stocked, that way you'll never go hungry.
